Diamonds On My Neck: The After Birthday Update

So, I studied for my Proofs final on Thursday and knocked it outta the park on Friday. Afterward the beau and I went to get all of my free birthday food from Moe's and Cold Stone Creamery and then walked around Atlantic Station for a while. Moe's tried to hassle me a bit and only give me salsa and chips free, but the email I had CLEARLY stated I got a complimentary entree. I never did get the free chips, but a cup of salsa I wont eat. Oh well. We saw the big tree and I had to take a picture. I remembered and reminisced about the time when VB and I conspired to relieve that tree of one of its ornaments but never did go through with it. Maybe one day.

That night was interesting. Had a little bit of drama before going out, but it was mostly worked out by the time I left. Went to esso with MJ and SweetTee, and got niiiiiiiice and toasty. I'll admit it, I was drunk. And VERY happy. And even happier that we stopped at Chinese Buddha before going home which helped me sober up a bit. Got home and let the rest of the liquor in my system cathartically dump all of my feelings out on the beau, which was nuts. He finally insisted that I open my birthday present right then and there, which I didn't wanna do, but it promptly made me stop bawling from insane, liquor-infused madness and start bawling from insane, liquor-infused happiness.

I got my first real diamond necklace. I don't think I've stopped saying thank you yet. We ended the night on a great note. I woke up later on my birthday feeling like I'd been punched in both eyes and had fallen open-mouthed and face first on a beach. Drunk some water and went back to sleep while waiting on it to heal the beach-mouth problem. Woke back up and had some more, realized it wasn't going to work, and washed my hair in a nice hot shower, which worked pretty well. Got ready to got out to birthday dinner at Red Lobster.

Got to eat three of my four favorite sea foods, and they were very excellently grilled, so it was a great evening. They were sitting on rice that wasn't so great, and the broccoli tasted like it came from a mythical field that had fauns dancing through it, but other than that it was great. Except for I the fact that I only got one raspberry lemonade the entire night, even after asking for another one, and the waitress kept calling me sweetie and I was probably older than her. Anyway, I decided to get the chocolate cake for dessert and the beau requested a candle be stuck in it, which they found, and sung the happy birthday song to me. I REALLY wish I had broken out the camera and taken pictures, because it was really nice (and I looked HOT) but I didn't think about it until after the night was over.

After dinner we made a run to my grandmother's house to get my birthday presents from mom and grandma. I got some birthday cards, money, and a fruit basket and balloon. It was all nice as well, except after closer inspection of the basket we found some of the fruit had mold on it and took it back to the store. I got a gift card with the amount on it instead, which is still useful. Mom tried. Kroger failed.

I had a great birthday!
