A Little Science

Water freezes at the temperature of 32 degrees farenheit (sp?). We've had a cold snap in Atlanta that has had it in the 20's. This means it has to be WARMER than that for snow to occur. Why do I see people questioning the fact that its warmer right now, even though it snowed today? It generally isn't all that cold when it does snow, but can get nastily cold after, and turn it into ice, which makes it no good for driving anywhere. Get it? Good.

I do wonder though. What in the HELL are people making with the eggs, milk, water and bread they furiously bought from the store the other day??? They acted like they wouldn't be able to leave the house for weeks, and most of the stuff they bought will go bad in one. Wtf is wrong with people? I don't get it. They should have been prepared, its been cold for a while now anyway. I do love Atl, but I need a city that's prepared for its "natural disasters". They happen to some degree EVERY YEAR. I would have thought they would have caught on by now.

Ok, I'm done ranting tonight.

~EDIT~
Ok seriously though, it can be colder or warmer for the snow to come down, but it really isn't usually unbearably cold when it starts. And it can be too cold to snow. The conditions have to be right. That is all.
