So, I'm becoming more and more pissed off at the things that have been happening since the election. While I know I can't change people and the way they want to perceive and think about things, I finally have some things to say. You don't like it, oh well.
1.) Who gives a diddly fuck WHY I voted the way I did? Yeah, I'm Black. I'm also female. I ALSO happen to believe in the ideals represented by the Democratic Party. Did I want a woman as president? Hell yeah! But not THOSE women. Lemme explain...
This is the first time besides when I was in AP History in high school that I have followed politics so closely. See, I'm one of those people that doesn't like coming off to others as a bitch, even though I'm probably a huge one on the inside. So, I generally don't like watching all of the crap and bad-mouthing that goes on during these things. However, no bad-mouthing was even NEEDED during this election. Albeit, I'm also not one to normally show off vulnerable emotions, I do have them, and people have seen them. Hilary Clinton cried more times ON TELEVISION in FOUR MONTHS than I have in a YEAR. I'm not including the "I'm so mad I could kill you, stuff you in a ditch and move on with life perfectly" kind of crying either. If I think I'M too emotional to be a president over a large amount of people then I can't be represented by that! I wont!
I think No Child Left Behind is some straight bullshit. It may have been a good idea in theory, but it ended up taking the focus (and funding) off of other VERY important subjects in school, just to make sure students can pass ANOTHER bullshit test. Sure, math and english are important, but so are history, geography, the sciences, and other extra-curricular fun stuff. That being said, the No Child Left Behind program wasn't instituted until 2001. Why in the hell doesn't Sarah Palin KNOW that Africa is a continent??? Is it possible that they spent more money on her new look (which I said they needed to change her hair from the VERY beginning, but DAMN) than making sure the chick was educated enough NOT to make a fool out of not only herself, but the Republican Party, her state, and women in general? She was the BIGGEST political disappointment since, ever. Sure, the Bush admin was disappointing, but he played the game to win (even if he was also a buffoon, and a cheater). The war in Iraq and the search for WMD's had nothing to do with what he made it look like. He wanted to keep being president. And it worked. This is why they only get 2 terms.
With the last two paragraphs I am by no means saying that a man should be the one to win. I think there are some very capable and competent women out there, who could handle the presidency well. What I AM saying is that I don't want a weakling or a non-proper english speaking dumbass handling my country. I don't care if you're male, female, both, black, white, orange, purple, blue, or green. You need to be strong, intelligent, and capable. Neither of these women fit that bill to me.
Now on the the men. John McCain. I wish and hope and pray for all of the good health the universe has to offer that man, but let's face it. There is PLENTY of dirt on this earth younger than him. Ther've probably been some new islands formed since he was born. Not to mention he was not of good health. He gets DISABILITY. Sure, he has military experience. That could've come in great handy, but I'm sure that the Secretary of Defense has a job and that title for a reason. The hell would I want a disabled 'maverick' as my president for?
Joe Biden. Yeah, I got stuff on him too. I was PRAYING during the debate with Palin that he wouldn't say the wrong thing. Maybe its the fact that he's had a couple of aneurysms, but this guy has balls. He told Milosevic to his face, and on his side of the world that he was a war criminal...who in the hell does that? The thing he did for me though, and I've written about it before, was during that debate, he spoke TO ME. He looked into that camera (and sure its a cheap political trick, kiss the babies, relate to the people) and let ME know what he wanted to do. I just hope that he too stays healthy, and watches his mouth. It could be a double-edged sword.
And the winner is...
Barack Obama! I feel that he IS the MOST QUALIFIED. The fact that he is Black has no bearing over my decision. If anything, it made me scrutinize him MORE. He presented himself the entire time as an intelligent man who actually brought forth plans and addressed what he wanted to do with the issues. He didn't play any games, he didn't stoop to the level of his opponents in his political attacks, and he got down with the damn get down! He didn't want this for Black people, he wanted it AS AN AMERICAN. Nuff said.
If you care, THAT is why I support Obama. He EARNED and DESERVED my vote. And yes, I'm DAMN happy that he made it. Not only was it an accomplishment for our country it was an accomplishment for Black people, who didn't always have to right to vote. Who DIDN'T always have the right to speak whenever they felt the need. WHO HAD TO DEAL WITH SLAVERY, RACISM, BEATINGS, WATER HOSES, TOTAL INEQUALITY, AND SEGREGATION NOT ONLY FROM OTHERS BUT AMONGST THEMSELVES!
NO MORE! KILL THE RACIST BULLSHIT!
Alright, more on this later, my epic moment (and ability to type coherently) has passed.

I've got a lot to say here, but I will keep it brief...
Strong, intelligent and capable. Well said!! It is/was such a disappointment to find out what level Sarah Palin is functioning on. I can't believe she is running ANYTHING with her lack of knowledge. Every day you are hearing more and more reports of the simple things she just doesn't know or understand. Someone please explain to me how she is governor of anything.
Moving on... the right person won. I have never seen anyone gather the people like Barack Obama has. His words are inspiring and for the first time in my life, I actually believe in the words coming out a politician's mouth. I believe in him and what he represents. The fact that he is black did not give him my vote. The man has got it going on! For me, him being black was just the icing on the cake. He would have still gotten my vote, had he looked like the rest of the presidents in the history books.
