It all went down.
Miraculously got to graduation on time after pickin up MJ and CM (we left after the time I originally wanted to get there, but I got there earlier as requested)just so we could all stand around in shoes not meant to be stood still in for the whole hour. I swear it only took about 15 minutes to get us lined up but the had to count us about 4 times and make sure we didn't take any beverages into the seating area (which made me chug my Red Bull - not a bad idea until I crashed about 2 hrs later). So I don't know about the people in the stands, but all I could hear was the first couple of words and the last few on the echo, so I quickly gave up on listening to whoever was talking. Screamed for MJ and waited forrrrevvvvver while they got through the College of Engineering. Took a million pictures after (none of which I've even seen yet) and went home.
Grabbed the bag I packed the night/morning before and set out for the gym for the party after being emotional and chilling back out. Got to the pool and realized they kinda had no idea we were supposed to be there, so I had to get them to set up the grill for us. Then it stormed. Mom stayed outside, in a thunderstorm, next to a pool and grilled hamburgers for the party. Any other person would have just waited and said whatever, eff it, but she went ahead and cooked some very tasty burgers for us, which was cool as hell. The rain slowed so I ran out to the car and grabbed all my crap and got the music going. Party turned out to be pretty fun, and I got a quick dip in the pool and hot tub. 3.5 hours for a grad party was just enough.
Went home for a nap under the advice of the beau, which was really great advice cuz I needed it. I love that he loves me and just wants to make sure I'm okay. Got up and went to MJ's to finish out the night with friends, champagne and fun. VB gave me a $50 gift card to Best Buy, which I feel was one of the best gifts I got. I definitely appreciate all of the money I got because I really needed it, but that gift was really thoughtful. That and "The Best Grad Card Ever". You'll have to ask me about it to know what that's about, I keep it with me. The end of the night went a little south, but all in all it was a great (long, annoying, wonderful) day.
Tuesday came. Grades were to be posted by some time in the pm, but I checked mine early anyway. They always come early, and this semester was no exception. By noon I saw my grades (A, A, B) and had an outburst on Twitter about it. Went to mom's to hang out and try to get my check cashed but ran outta time while having a phone interview (which I just remembered I forgot to decline the offer for today) and planning for Cinco de Mayo (and forgetting I was supposed to spend it with the beau only). Wanted Pappasito's very badly (had been tryna go that day for two years now and have yet to go any other day) but it was too crowded. Ended up at Ultimate Bar and Grill, which was fun for me but the beau still found the music objectionable (he likes real hip hop). The one day and three grades were over, and I officially became a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. I even downloaded the degree verification to my desktop to prove it.
Its all over. I've been in school for about 20 years, and its all over. I was an adult before, but now I really have to step up and be one. I have to support myself and make sure my future family will be supported. There will be no more refund checks to use for rent (room and board to anyone who asks), no more 5 hour breaks in between class where I can sleep, or do work, or bullshit around. No more deciding to stay at home and not go to class for some reason that isn't a good one. I HAVE to do something with myself now. Or marry rich. I kinda like where I am on the relationship front though, so unless he gets rich soon that's out. Its on me to do for me. Let's go. Let's get this money.
